We are in an election that no one wanted, in the middle of a pandemic, and during a climate crisis that should take precedence over electoral posturing. But here we are, and I’m ready to represent the people of Toronto-St. Paul’s.

I’m focused on solutions for green jobs to reverse climate change, a just and sustainable society that supports our essential workers, and housing that all can afford.

We can change Parliament for the better, and it starts by electing a new generation of science-driven leaders that make policies based on evidence and data, not polls and rhetoric. When we embrace diversity and work together towards a common sustainable future, we all win.

Together, a better Canada is possible.

Meet Phil

I am an award-winning scientist and clean technology innovator. After earning my PhD from the University of Toronto, I became the youngest-ever Director at the National Research Council of Canada.

I have worked with the OECD, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO, the Creative Destruction Lab, and Carbon Management Canada. I am a Forbes Top 30 Under 30, a Governor General Gold Medalist, a Carbon XPRIZE Finalist, and an avid Raptors fan.

I am running to bring more diversity to parliament, more science to politics, and more sustainability to Toronto-St. Paul’s.

Phil's Priorities for Toronto-St. Paul's

A Just and Sustainable Society

  • Guaranteed livable income and a federal sick day program
  • Mental health supports for essential workers

Green Jobs That Leave No One Behind

  • 100% zero-emission electricity grid, net-zero cities, and public transit electrification
  • Unleash science and innovation to fight climate change

Housing That All Can Afford

  • Build and maintain an affordable housing supply
  • Increase federal incentives for purpose-built housing and the missing middle
  • Support more accessible and sustainable homes

Annamie Paul

Phil is exactly the kind of diverse, young, and talented candidate we were seeking to attract with the Time to Run campaign.

Hugh Segal
Former Senator & Principal, Massey College
Officer of the Order of Canada

Phil’s experience in the world of science, research, technology and environment, reflects the expertise we need in government now more than ever.

Dr. Dianne Saxe, Ph.D

Phil has further demonstrated his selfless commitment to public service by taking an unpaid leave of absence from the job he loves in order to bring green ideals and insights to Parliament Hill. That is exactly where we need him.

Our campaign is funded by grassroots supporters like you who chip in what they can, when they can.

We need your help to make bold change. Work with us to build a better Canada.
