Toyota Research Institute Annual Research Meeting

Phil recently attended TRI’s Advanced Materials Discovery Research Program in the San Francisco Bay Area. He presented his research on the electrocatalytic conversion of CO2 into fuels and chemical feedstocks at the annual meeting.

In March of 2017, Toyota Research Institute announced $35 million in funding to several universities and research institutions to apply artificial intelligence to the hunt for new materials. The applications of interest are energy materials for next-generation mobility. This funding supports over 125 professors, graduate students, postdocs and research scientists. This external research program plus our dedicated TRI research and engineering staff comprises the Accelerated Materials Design & Discovery (AMDD) program.
